What is Chromecast?
Chromecast is a small device sold by Google. The home user connects it to an HDMI port on the back of their TV to be able to Cast content on it.
Cast means you control the content on your mobile device but it uses your TV to play it. Once the content has started, you don’t need to touch your phone. Chromecast plays the content directly from the Internet. You can Cast many different types of content, including music, video, tabs of your Google Chrome web browser, and the screen of your Android device. Currently, more than 2,000 apps support the cast feature (Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, VUDU, and many others).
It’s very easy to use: launch your app, press the Cast button, and choose the destination device (if you have multiple TVs/Chromecast devices).
It allows users and guests to access their content. The current trend is that there is more content made than they can use (and it’s not going to change). They can have a subscription to Netflix, Disney channel, VUDU, their preferred sports channels, and all their TV channels from their Internet service provider. You can’t compete with that, it’s better to follow the trend and allow guests to Cast onto the guest room TV.
